Baobab Circle Ltd is a multi-award-winning Health-Tech company registered in the UK with subsidiaries and operations across 7 African nations. Initially a provider of personalised chronic disease management plans, the company has responded to the paradigm shift led by COVID-19 by providing telemedicine solutions and live consultations across the spectrum of Primary Care. Our initial product, Afya Pap is a patient centred platform using AI and behavioural science to improve management of chronic conditions (e.g diabetes) by providing localised health education and personalised remote monitoring via a USSD/SMS platform and through our App. Our ‘Ask the Dr’ feature, originally designed to provide text-based consultations, now allows for live voice and video calling, connecting patients directly to a doctor within their nations health system. Our products allow even the most remote person to be monitored by individuals and healthcare providers via our web based caregiver portal and by using our connected devices such as our exclusive glucometer (Dnurse) and blood pressure monitor (Jumper). These innovations help us to equally distribute demand across healthcare systems nationwide, increasing quality and access to healthcare for the marginalised and to the very last mile.
Since its formation Baobab Circle has taken great strides in leading innovative models of healthcare delivery and we will continue to work every day to foster and support health system resilience in our mission to deliver affordable and accessible healthcare across Africa.
