Job Description
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for implementing and managing the communications strategy for the BRIDGE-In Agriculture program, a high-impact initiative led by CrossBoundary in partnership with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will produce compelling multimedia content, manage media engagement, coordinate communication activities among partners, and support the promotion of events and digital campaigns. Reporting to the Global Head of Communications, the role works closely with CrossBoundary’s investment advisory team in Ghana and engages directly with consortium partners, beneficiaries, and donors to highlight program achievements.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Implement the BRIDGE-In Agriculture communications strategy in alignment with program goals
Create multimedia content (videos, graphics, photo essays, etc.) for diverse platforms
Maintain and update the Partner Communications Toolkit with ready-to-use assets
Develop and manage shared content calendars, launch templates, and strategic collaboration tools
Serve as the lead communications contact for program partners and stakeholders
Ensure timely, aligned messaging across all communications touchpoints
Support stakeholders with visibility opportunities such as interviews and event participation
Coordinate closely with the Mastercard Foundation’s communications team
Develop a proactive media engagement strategy targeting Ghana’s local and national media
Promote events including webinars, workshops, roadshows, and community engagements
Execute digital marketing and social media campaigns
Monitor communication outcomes using metrics and provide performance reports
Track partner engagement and provide tailored support where needed
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in communications, ideally in agriculture, development, or nonprofit sectors
Proficient in digital marketing and social media tools
Experience working with NGOs, government bodies, or private sector actors
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects
Excellent storytelling and content creation abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Familiarity with Ghana’s agricultural context and challenges facing youth and women is a distinct advantage
Passion for sustainable development and social impact
