Job Description
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing communication strategies that effectively promote the UGHE Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. This includes content development for social media, newsletters, and websites, pre-arrival communication for scholars, outreach initiatives, alumni engagement, partnership communication, and supporting student recruitment efforts. The role requires strong skills in digital marketing, stakeholder engagement, and storytelling to maximize the program’s reach and impact.

How to Apply
Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to enhance the program’s visibility.
Manage content for social media, newsletters, and the program website.
Highlight success stories and program impact through engaging narratives and visuals.
Develop pre-arrival communication materials and training for new scholars.
Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in all communication materials.
Coordinate outreach initiatives and engagement events to connect with potential scholars and partners.
Support recruitment teams with promotional materials and targeted outreach campaigns.
Develop alumni engagement strategies, including newsletters and networking events.
Track communication metrics and prepare detailed reports on outreach effectiveness.
Collaborate with disability-inclusive and refugee organizations to strengthen partnerships.
Manage career services communication, including job placement and mentorship programs.
Work closely with UGHE’s internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure brand consistency.
Organize and coordinate program-related communication for conferences and academic events.
Master’s degree or equivalent expertise in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in communications, digital marketing, or public relations.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills for diverse audiences and media formats.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics, and social media management.
Experience in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and partnership-building.
Knowledge of global health, youth development, or education sectors is an asset.
Experience with graphic design tools is a plus.
