Mayuge District was established by an act of parliament in 2000 and it’s located in the eastern region of Uganda. The headquarters are situated in Mayuge Town council 120km from Kampala the capital city and 40km from Jinja. It’s bordered by Iganga in the north Jinja in the west, Bugiri in the east and Lake Victoria in the south which is shared by Mukono, district, Bugiri, Mayuge itself and Jinja city.

MAYUGE DISTRICTLOCAL GOVERNMENT
Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons to fill the underlisted vacant post that exist in the service of Mayuge District Local Government. Applications should be submitted in Triplicate on PSC 3(Revised 2008) to the Secretary District Service Commission PO Box 1317 MAYUGE not later than four weeks from the date of this advertisement.
Application forms can be obtained from Public Service Commission Office 2nd floor Farmers' parliamentary Avenue Kampala and/ or any of the District Service Commission Offices and MUST be filled in the applicants own handwriting with three (3) passport size photographs attached. Serving officers should route their applications through their supervisors who should be informed of the closing date to avoid any unnecessary delay.
Planning, coordinating, and monitoring trade and investment activities in the district
Providing technical advice and guidance to entrepreneurs, investors, and traders on matters related to trade and investment
Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential markets and opportunities for the district's products and services
Organizing and facilitating trade fairs, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and other events to promote the district's trade and investment potential
Developing and maintaining a database of trade and investment information and statistics for the district
Preparing and submitting periodic reports on the performance and impact of trade and investment activities in the district
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, both within and outside the district
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the District Trade and Industry Officer

The Commercial Officer should have the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution
At least three years of relevant work experience in trade and investment promotion, business development, or a related field
Knowledge of the national and regional trade and investment policies, laws, regulations, and procedures
Knowledge of the district's economic profile, potential, challenges, and opportunities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
