The African Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture Victims ( ACTV ) is a Non-Governmental organization in Uganda which commenced operations in 1993 whose mandate includes advocacy against torture and provision of physical and psychological treatment and rehabilitation, social support and legal services to survivors of torture.

To examine, Counsel and provide medical treatment to survivors of torture
Collaborate with other health professionals and colleagues at the clinic for further client evaluation and management
Refer clients to specialized health professionals and follow up referred cases for progress made
Prepare Clients Medical Reports to be submitted to any relevant institution
Provide expert witness in cases of torture once summoned by court
Participate in outreach activities including visits to places of detention as per the agreed plan
Participate in the planning and Budgeting for the Medical unit as per ACTV guidelines
Contribute to proposal writing and other ACTV Fundraising Initiatives
Prepare and produce periodic reports for the unit as per the agreed timelines
Carry out any other work-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

The applicant must hold a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution
Training in counselling is an added advantage
Two years of working experience
Previous work in a Non-Governmental Organisation is an added advantage
Languages:
Fluency in English. Proficiency in Ngakarimojong language
Aged between 25 – 35years
