PAAHFO Foundation Limited is a Non-Government Uganda Charity Organization which started in 2018 as a Community Outreach, and in 2021 it was registered as a Community Based Organization(CBO) with 3 suffering orphan children from remote families. Later the charity foundation was legalized and transformed into a national center (NGO) in 2023. And PAAHFO Stands for; Patrick And Hellen Foundation.

Over the past years, the number of orphans and vulnerable children living in Uganda has been escalating at an alarming rate. In 2020, the number of orphans was estimated to be 800; in 2021 that number had grown to nearly 1000. Over five hundred of those children have lost their parents.

  • Children nurses at Paahfo are expected to provide high-quality care to young patients and their families.

  • They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of children with various health conditions, from minor injuries to chronic illnesses.

  • They also need to communicate effectively with children, parents, carers and other health professionals, and to provide education and support on health promotion and disease prevention.

  • Children nurses at Paahfo must have a bachelor's degree in nursing, a valid license to practice in Ghana, and at least two years of experience working with children in a hospital setting.

  • They must also demonstrate competence in clinical skills, critical thinking, decision making, teamwork and leadership.

  • Children nurses at Paahfo are required to participate in continuous professional development and to adhere to the code of ethics and standards of practice of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association.

  • They have a solid knowledge of child development, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and other relevant topics. They keep themselves updated with the latest research and best practices in pediatric nursing.


Teamwork:

  • They collaborate effectively with other nurses, doctors, therapists, social workers, and other professionals who are involved in the child's care. They share information and feedback, and support each other's work.
