Job Description
Reporting to the SSD Manager, the Child Protection Field Officer will play a critical role in coordinating field-level sponsorship activities, identifying and managing child protection issues, and supporting community engagement. The officer will maintain strong relationships with sponsored children and their families, facilitate regular meetings and child clusters, conduct follow-ups on child welfare, and ensure timely reporting and case management.
The position requires strong interpersonal skills, community engagement abilities, and a commitment to child rights and protection principles.

Locate and build strong relationships with sponsored children and their parents.
Initiate and facilitate active village-based children clusters, meeting them on a monthly basis.
Organize and lead quarterly meetings with sponsored parents.
Manage and follow up on sponsored children’s cases, including emergency medical support, counseling, and abuse-related interventions.
Conduct regular health check-ups for sponsored children.
Advocate for and support malnourished children to ensure proper health and nutrition.
Work with schools and families to maintain children’s enrollment and prevent dropouts.
Prepare, collect, and submit sponsorship reports (GML, ACL, APR, Dropouts, CIF) accurately and on time through the CMS system.
Coordinate payment of health insurance for sponsored children.
Maintain records of field activities and report regularly to the SSD Manager.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of a Diploma (A0) in Education, Social Work, Child Development, or a related field.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in child protection, education, or community development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in working with children and communities.
Proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda (both spoken and written).
Competency in computer applications and report writing.
Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and commitment to child protection principles.
