Job Description
Reporting to the Customer Marketing Manager for the Africa Cluster, the Category & Shopper Marketing Specialist plays a key role in creating and implementing category development strategies. The position requires close coordination with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain to translate market insights into actionable, channel-specific plans. Key tasks include launching new products, optimizing in-store visibility, managing trade investments, analyzing Nielsen data, and ensuring alignment between marketing plans and field execution through the S&OP process.

Develop and implement category development strategies to support business objectives
Design and execute in-store strategies including BTL communication, pricing, assortments, planograms, and promotions
Lead the market execution of new product launches and coordinate with distributor and field teams
Maintain cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain
Manage trade marketing budgets and shopper/channel investments
Use Nielsen data to assess market trends and identify growth opportunities
Develop performance tracking tools for sales, distribution, and initiative ROI
Actively participate in the S&OP process to ensure consistency between strategy and execution
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field
Experience:
3–4 years of experience in the FMCG sector, with at least 2 years in customer or trade marketing
Strong commercial understanding of FMCG dynamics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Nielsen data analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Key Competencies:
Strategic thinking with the ability to execute tactically
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Excellent team collaboration and communication skills
Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
