Job Description
The C&F Declaration Officer will be responsible for overseeing and executing all customs clearance procedures related to imported and exported goods. This includes applying for Import Declaration Forms (IDFs), managing bonds and cancellations, ensuring shipping documentation is in place prior to arrival, and updating databases with tracking information. The role also involves advising management on appropriate actions to handle declaration or clearance issues, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Track incoming and outgoing shipments and update internal systems accordingly.
Ensure all required shipping and customs documentation is available before cargo arrival.
Prepare and process all customs declarations for imports and exports in compliance with regulations.
Apply for Import Declaration Forms (IDFs).
Advise management on optimal strategies for dealing with customs-related technicalities.
Manage bond applications and ensure timely cancellations.
Facilitate communication between internal teams, customs authorities, and clearing agents.
Maintain updated and accurate records of all declaration activities and documentation.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and legal procedures.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or Degree in Customs, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
At least 2–3 years of experience in customs declaration and clearance procedures.
Solid understanding of import/export regulations and customs systems.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
