The Business Development Manager will report to the Branch Manager and be responsible for driving loans and advances, deposit growth, and alternative banking product sales at the branch level. This includes supervising sales officers, acquiring new customers, promoting NBC’s products and services, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role also involves coordinating sales campaigns, conducting market research, supporting loan recovery efforts, preparing business reports, and participating in branch budgeting processes. The successful candidate should have strong banking knowledge, customer service skills, and leadership ability to coach teams and engage strategically with clients.
A. Business Soliciting – Acquisition/Recruitment
Recruit new customers and maintain relationships with existing clients
Conduct regular client visits and gather feedback
Identify business growth areas within the local market
Collaborate with product development teams for localized solutions
Work with CIB and BB departments to tap into retail opportunities
Address business-related customer queries
B. Deposit Mobilization
Supervise deposit campaigns at the branch level
Actively pursue deposit opportunities to meet branch targets
Engage in branch-level marketing and community outreach
C. Cross Selling
Promote all bank products including mobile, internet, and agency banking
Sell deposit, loan, insurance, FX, and money transfer products
Gather market intelligence and assess competitor performance
D. Relationship Management
Build long-term relationships with segmented customers
Strategize to convert prospects into loyal NBC clients
Manage high-net-worth relationships and promote customer retention
Support client engagement through social and business interactions
E. Reports, Monitoring, and Turnaround
Maintain database of high-net-worth clients
Monitor KPIs for business growth and loan performance
Support recovery efforts and loan turnaround time improvements
Collaborate with Stressed Asset Management Units
F. Coaching and Mentoring
Guide and support the branch sales team
Monitor performance and ensure adherence to KPIs
Participate in budgeting and planning of sales-related activities
Prepare business reports and proposals for management
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
Minimum 3 years of banking experience
In-depth knowledge of banking practices, products, and regulations
Skills and Competencies:
Strong customer service and relationship management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Leadership and people management skills
Sales and cross-selling experience
Good knowledge of BOT regulations and risk management
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Digital and product familiarity
