Job Description
Reporting to the Alternate Channels Specialist, the Business Applications Administrator is tasked with ensuring high availability and effective management of business applications across the bank. The role requires implementing disaster recovery strategies, providing expert application support, maintaining system security, and delivering technical advisory for business systems. The incumbent will also develop procedures for ongoing management, participate in training, and solve complex application challenges to maintain operational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support and implement business applications.
Ensure high availability and continuity of business applications with disaster recovery (DR) setup.
Provide effective BAU (Business-As-Usual) technical support for core business applications.
Offer advisory and technical support for deployment and management of corporate business systems.
Safeguard business data security within applications.
Enforce strict change control for customizations.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex analytical application challenges.
Provide expert support to core banking and business applications.
Ensure efficient and secure operation of all business applications.
Participate in delivering training on core applications.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
Professional Certifications (added advantage): CCNA, ITIL, MCSA, MCSE.
Experience:
2–3 years working experience, preferably in a financial institution, with focus on database administration.
Knowledge of Microsoft Server OS (2003, 2008, 2012, 2016), Sun Solaris, IBM.
Expertise in virtualization & cloud computing (VMWare, Hyper V, MS Azure).
Familiarity with storage infrastructure (NetApp, clustering, replication).
Hands-on with business applications such as core banking, e-banking, ATM switch, System Center.
Proficiency in MSSQL, DB2, Oracle 9i and database management systems.
Experience with UNIX-based systems and open-source databases.
Technical Skills:
Application development abilities.
Strong skills in computer hardware/software programs, networking, and systems administration.
Advanced systems computing and problem-solving abilities.
Soft Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making.
Strategic perspective with planning and organizational abilities.
