Job Description
The Brewing Area Manager is responsible for overseeing area teams in the brewing department to ensure adherence to the production plan and execution of best practices as guided by the Voyager Plant Optimization (VPO) framework. This role ensures operational excellence, adherence to safety and quality standards, and efficient management of fixed and variable costs. The position also emphasizes process optimization, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement to meet performance goals. The manager will play a crucial role in driving high-performance culture and people development within the team.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Promote beer brewing quality excellence and communicate quality standards.
Provide brewing process expertise and support process optimization projects.
Lead and audit implementation of VPO standards.
Apply problem-solving and decision-making techniques in operations.
Ensure adherence to occupational health, safety, and risk protocols.
Manage production productivity, process conformance, and cost control.
Support trials, VA, CAPEX, and engineering projects.
Ensure compliance with environmental and quality standards.
Enforce system compliance with MES, PTS, eQMS, PaQT, and other tools.
Lead performance management and development of team members.
Drive a high-performance autonomous team culture.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
BSc in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
Completed Brewing Traineeship.
IBD Papers 1, 2, and 3 completed and passed.
Minimum 2 years of production experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial brewing role.
Strong technical brewing expertise and commercial decision-making experience.
Proven performance track record and quality discipline.
Master Brewer IBD qualification (obtained or in progress) is an added advantage.
SAP white belt certification is an added advantage.
