Job Description
The Branch Manager will lead the Kroonstad branch with a strategic focus on enhancing profitability, customer engagement, employee development, and compliance. The role demands a strong background in retail or agricultural business management and requires hands-on experience in inventory control, sales performance, staff supervision, and adherence to legal and health standards. The successful candidate will instill a culture aligned with Hinterland’s values while fostering branch growth and operational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and manage all branch operations
Drive top-line growth through targeted sales and marketing strategies
Manage product margins and optimize profitability
Execute events to boost customer interaction and loyalty
Monitor and control inventory levels, trends, and write-offs
Implement effective merchandising strategies
Oversee employee development, daily tasks, and performance
Foster a positive and aligned branch culture
Enforce employee relations protocols and manage incidents with HR
Ensure branch-wide compliance with legal, policy, and safety standards
Conduct staff training on compliance procedures
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in Agricultural, Business Management, or Retail
Experience Required:
5–10 years of relevant management experience
Competencies:
Strong leadership and people management skills
Deep knowledge of inventory control and retail operations
Understanding of sales and marketing strategy execution
Ability to maintain high compliance and health/safety standards
Effective communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
