Job Description
The Branch Accountant Intern will assist in daily accounting tasks such as updating registers, preparing financial reports, reconciling cash and bank transactions, and ensuring accurate system postings. They will also be responsible for asset reconciliation and physical verification, supporting audits, and implementing financial safeguarding standards. The intern will work under the supervision of the branch accountant and contribute to maintaining efficient financial management practices.

How to Apply
Prepare vouchers and process payments.
Maintain financial registers and update them daily.
Perform daily cash vs. bank reconciliations.
Post and update financial transactions in the system.
Review and correct financial errors identified during visits.
Manage assets, including reconciliation, tagging, and verification.
Support internal and external audit processes and respond to audit reports.
Ensure compliance with financial safeguarding standards.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Graduate or diploma in Banking, Finance, Accountancy, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Fresh graduate with field experience or 1-2 years of experience in microfinance or related programs.
Strong interpersonal communication skills (English & Kiswahili).
Knowledge of entrepreneurship, financial analysis, and taxation.
Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, Word, and web-based systems.
