Medical Equipment Management

• Install, inspect, test, and commission new medical equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on biomedical equipment.
• Ensure timely calibration and performance verification of clinical devices.
• Maintain accurate equipment service records, logs, and inventory registers.

Clinical & Operational Support

• Provide technical support to clinicians and nursing staff on proper equipment usage.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency technical issues.
• Participate in procurement processes by evaluating technical specifications of medical equipment.
• Advise management on equipment lifecycle, upgrades, and replacements.

Patient & Staff Safety

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct routine equipment safety checks and risk assessments.
• Investigate equipment-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health, ISO, and hospital safety standards.
• Conduct regular equipment safety checks and risk assessments.
• Support infection prevention by ensuring proper equipment cleaning and handling protocols.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.

Training & Capacity Building

• Train healthcare staff on safe and effective use of biomedical equipment.
• Develop and update user manuals, SOPs, and maintenance guidelines.
• Mentor junior technical staff where applicable.

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical devices such as patient monitors, ventilators, imaging equipment, laboratory analyzers, and theatre equipment.
• Experience working in private healthcare settings is an added advantage.
