Job Description
As an Associate HR Business Partner, you will be part of a centralized People Services team, embedded within the Nairobi bureau. You will support two International HR Business Partners overseeing Africa and MENA regions, assisting in the implementation of HR initiatives, organizational development, and employee engagement. The role requires proactive collaboration with both business and HR teams to ensure efficient delivery of the people strategy. You’ll also act as a trusted advisor, manage stakeholder relationships, and participate in projects to enhance the BBC’s reputation as an employer of choice.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support International HR Business Partners in executing HR strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (Reward, HR Systems, Data Analytics) to provide high-quality HR services.
Act as an escalation point for complex HR queries and employee relations issues.
Ensure HR tools, policies, and initiatives are aligned to improve employee engagement and performance.
Lead and participate in HR projects that promote the BBC’s reputation as a global employer.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as an ambassador for the International HR team.
Support organizational change initiatives, including restructuring and reorganization.
Analyze HR data to generate insights that inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Proven experience in a generalist HR role (at Specialist or Senior Advisor level).
Experience supporting Francophone regions and fluency in French.
Background in working with employees in unionized environments.
Strong stakeholder management skills with evidence of effective collaboration.
Broad HR experience across areas like pay, data, people practices, and employee development.
Proven experience managing change activities (e.g., restructuring).
Strong data analysis and storytelling ability.
Evidence of continuous improvement and curiosity-driven work approach.
Focus on people experience and organizational culture.
