Job Description

This position plays a pivotal role in assisting with production floor activities and leadership. The incumbent will participate in a development program to gain in-depth knowledge of ALPLA's manufacturing technologies, processes, and leadership requirements. Responsibilities include production reporting, waste and rework management, process improvements using LEAN methodologies, team coordination, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The role also encompasses active participation in strategic initiatives and providing coverage for the Production Manager when needed.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured trainee program and schedule learning opportunities

  • Develop technical expertise in at least two production technologies

  • Understand interdepartmental collaboration and budget processes

  • Manage daily production reporting and waste/rework procedures

  • Lead and support LEAN process improvement initiatives

  • Conduct root cause analyses for production challenges and customer complaints

  • Analyze trends to support resource planning and operational improvements

  • Participate in cross-functional projects (HSE, 5S, Food Safety)

  • Lead improvement initiatives with training and SOP development

  • Coordinate shift handovers, staff schedules, and safety compliance

  • Support recruitment, training, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations

  • Provide interim leadership during Production Manager’s absence

  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance and readiness for audits

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year Degree in Engineering, Production, or a related field

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a production/manufacturing environment

  • Technical and/or engineering experience essential

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills for trend evaluation and data interpretation

  • Excellent time management and task prioritization

  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving and structured thinking capabilities

  • Ability to manage change and lead talent development

  • Familiarity with ALPLA’s values and leadership standards
