Job Description
As an experienced counsel specializing in legal, compliance, and risk management, the Assistant Manager, Legal, will play a critical role in providing top-tier legal advisory, contractual documentation, and regulatory compliance support to So Energy Ltd (Ghana). Providing expert legal advice and guidance to safeguard the business from legal and compliance risks.
Ensuring the legal department and various operational companies are updated on applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating medium to high-risk commercial agreements with minimal supervision.
Conducting in-depth legal research on various issues.
Attending meetings with external stakeholders, including public/regulatory bodies.
Engaging and working closely with external legal counsel when required.
Providing litigation support to external legal counsel and assisting with management oversight.
Leading or supporting assignments as required.

How to Apply

Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements.
Conduct detailed legal research.

Lead or assist in various legal assignments.
Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of Ghanaian laws and regulations, corporate commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with laws, regulations, and industry standards related to the energy sector (oil & gas and power), construction, and infrastructure.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
