Financial Recordkeeping: Assist with the maintenance of financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll processing.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to summarize the organization's financial position and performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering financial data, analyzing trends, and preparing budget reports for review by management.

Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.
Tax Compliance: Assist with tax compliance activities, such as preparing tax returns, calculating tax liabilities, and maintaining records to support tax filings.
Software and Systems: Utilize accounting software and systems to perform accounting tasks efficiently and accurately, and to generate reports for analysis and decision-making.

Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required for Assistant Accountant positions. Some employers may also accept candidates with an associate degree or relevant accounting certification.
