Job Description
The Agronomist will collaborate with fruit farmers to develop sustainable agricultural practices and promote environmental protection. The role ensures that compost management practices are effective, efficient, and environmentally friendly, contributing to the long-term viability of agricultural systems.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintenance of ICS: Implementation the Internal Control System (ICS) manual and farmer field diaries specifically for avocado.
- Organic Compliance: Conduct risk assessments of farm plots.
- Production Management: Provide technical guidance on avocado nursery management, grafting, soil health, and organic pest/disease control.
- Farmer Training: Lead training sessions for cooperative members on organic standards, buffer zone management, and post-harvest handling and governance.
- Traceability: Configure and manage digital traceability tools to ensure every avocado is traceable from the farm plot to the export crate.
- Audit Readiness: Act as the primary technical contact during external audits by certification bodies.
