The Safety and Health Association of Uganda (SHAU) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Admin Officer to join our team. As a professional membership body dedicated to promoting safety and health practices across Uganda, we are deeply invested in empowering our members. Together, we aim to improve safety standards in workplaces and protect the well-being of employees across different industries.

  • Administrative Support:

  • Oversee general administrative functions such as office supplies procurement, equipment maintenance, and facility management.

  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events.

  • Manage correspondence, both internal and external, ensuring timely responses.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to administrative activities.

  • Membership Services:

  • Assist with membership engagement efforts.

  • Process membership applications and renewals efficiently.

  • Respond to member inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.

  • Collaborate with the communications team to promote membership benefits and initiatives.

  • Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

  • Support the Executive Committee in fulfilling governance requirements.

  • Assist with preparing materials for meetings.

  • Financial Management:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable

  • Prepare and monitor budgets in collaboration with the management team.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation, such as receipts, invoices, purchase orders, and financial reports.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Prepare financial reports for the executive team.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Knowledge in financial management

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
