Job Description
Job Title: NDT Inspector – 4 Positions
Organisation: Sinopec Uganda
Duty Station: Hoima Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Monitoring all NDT activities at site operated by third party.
Witness and monitor site NDT activities, inspections, and tests following the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures, etc.
Assist in compiling of company Quality Plan, Inspection, and test Plan (ITP), and Quality Procedures and all pertained QA/QC documentation before commencement of any fabrication/construction work.
Planning of NDT activities.
Verification of NDT documentation.
Coordination of NDT verifications/qualifications.
Coordination of inspection activities.
Monitor lay barge progress to identify opportunities for improvement.
Preparation of close-out reports.
Review journals and technical papers for new NDT technology. Coordinate with 3rt party NDT inspectors, Construction and production teams to communicate inspection results and provide recommendations for corrective actions
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a similar position
NDT ISO 9712 Level II or above (RT, UT, MT, PT) is essential.
Strong knowledge of NDT techniques and their applications.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a good level of computer literacy
Competencies Required:
Knowledge of NDT Methods: Understanding various non-destructive testing methods
Ability to analyze complex situations, identify the root causes of problems, and recommend corrective actions based on findings
Good communication skills, Understand and comply with all safety protocols related to NDT
Maintain organized records of inspection activities, results, and certifications in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
