Scholarships Offered to Ugandans in the UK for PhD and Master's

The Ministry is offering 35 places to worthy Ugandans at both Master's and PhD levels in priority fields in line with national development priorities. The segmentation is as follows:


UK PhD Scholarships for Ugandans – 15 Places

  • PhD in Anesthesiology – 3 places

  • PhD in Renewable Energy Engineering – 3 places

  • PhD in Cybersecurity and Forensics – 3 places

  • PhD in Waste Management and Pollution Control – 3 positions

  • PhD in Disability Studies and Special Needs Education – 3 positions


Masters Scholarships in the UK for Ugandans – 20 Positions

  • Masters in Internal Medicine and Critical Care – 4 positions

  • Masters in Manufacturing Engineering – 4 positions

  • Masters in Software, Web Development, and Mobile Applications – 4 positions

  • Masters in Environmental Science and Climate Change – 3 positions

  • Masters in Inclusive and Special Needs Education – 3 posts

  • Masters in Tourism and Wildlife Conservation – 2 posts



Eligibility Criteria for PhD and Masters Scholarships in the UK for Ugandans

PhD Level

  • Must have a Master's degree in the same field from a reputable institution.

  • Must have a research supervisor from a reputable UK university.

  • Foreign academic certificates should be equivalent from National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).


Master's Level

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in the same field from a reputable university.

  • Should have attained a minimum CGPA of 3.60.

  • Must have at least two years' work experience at the time of application submission.

  • Foreign academic qualifications are to be translated by NCHE.
