Job Description
The Public Service Commission Kenya (PSCK) is recruiting for the position of Weights and Measures Officer II. This is an entry-level training grade where officers work under senior guidance to ensure the integrity of weighing and measuring equipment in the trade sector. The role involves technical testing, data collection, and providing legal evidence in court for regulatory compliance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include: -
- testing and stamping mechanical and electronic weighing equipment;
- (collecting data on verified equipment at traders' premises, stamping stations and verification office;
- sampling pre-packaged goods for quantitative analysis;
- preparing testing equipment for inspection and investigation purposes;
- preparing weighing and measuring equipment during trade fairs and exhibitions; and
- giving evidence in court on cases arising from infringement of the Weights and Measures Act (Cap 513) and Trade Descriptions Act (Cap 505).
