Job Description
The Warehouse Operator will manage the day-to-day receipt, inspection, labeling, storage, and issuance of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods. This role involves inventory accuracy, proper documentation, adherence to hygiene and safety regulations, and operation of material handling equipment. The position demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional experienced in regulated warehouse environments and inventory systems.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and unload incoming raw materials, packaging materials, and supplies into the warehouse.
Verify received items against delivery documents and report any discrepancies or damages.
Label, batch segregate, and store materials in designated zones as per SOPs.
Pick and issue materials to production in line with FEFO/FIFO principles and material request forms.
Conduct routine stock counts and support inventory reconciliation to maintain accuracy.
Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks in compliance with safety protocols.
Complete warehouse documentation such as bin cards, logbooks, and updates to electronic inventory systems.
Participate in cleaning, fumigation, and environmental monitoring of the warehouse.
Support segregation and safe disposal of expired, damaged, or rejected materials.
Ensure warehouse readiness for audits and inspections by complying with GDP, cGMP, and safety standards.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Qualifications:
Minimum of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
A certificate or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience and Competencies:
Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in a warehouse or inventory management role, preferably in a pharmaceutical or FMCG setting.
Knowledge of inventory systems and material traceability in regulated environments.
Ability to follow SOPs and maintain high hygiene and documentation standards.
