Job Description
The Transport and Logistics Officer will oversee the fleet of vehicles used in project implementation, ensuring they are well-maintained, properly utilized, and compliant with organizational policies. Key responsibilities include tracking vehicle movements, preparing usage reports, managing fuel and insurance processes, supervising drivers, and ensuring timely registration, licensing, and servicing of vehicles. The role also involves coordination with supply chain teams, managing vehicle emergencies, and providing strategic input into fleet management systems and policies to enhance operational efficiency.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Facilitate vehicle registration, insurance, fitness renewal, and road licenses
Maintain an accurate vehicle database and weekly travel matrix
Monitor vehicle use through tracking systems and generate usage reports
Schedule and route vehicles and drivers for staff activities
Oversee routine servicing, repairs, and ensure safety standards are met
Ensure proper logging of trips and monitor fuel usage and lubricants
Supervise drivers and identify training needs
Liaise with supply chain team to recommend standard vehicle models
Handle insurance claims promptly after accidents
Manage emergency repairs and ensure 24/7 response to breakdowns
Prepare comparative monthly reports on vehicle fuel consumption and usage
Support development of transport and logistics guidelines and policies
Review documentation related to hired vehicles, garages, and washing bays
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Hospitality or related field
Experience: Minimum of two years as cabin crew; leadership experience preferred
Certifications: Valid Cabin Crew Member Certificate; professional body membership is an added advantage
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
In-depth knowledge of aviation safety procedures and regulatory compliance
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Professional demeanor, grooming, and customer service orientation
