SunCulture, on a mission since 2013 to help smallholder farmers in Africa improve crop yields and quality through solar-powered irrigation, is hiring a Testing and Repairs Officer in Nairobi to diagnose and repair products and accessories returned from the field, run quality assurance inspections and resolve aftersales technical issues.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Ensure diagnosis and repair of all products and accessories sent from the field, with daily collection and transportation of all repaired products
Evaluate all products returned due to aftersales issues to confirm warranty coverage, advising customers on repair costs where not covered
Troubleshoot products both remotely and onsite to confirm whether the problem is a technical error or user error
Identify solutions to resolve technical product design problems and escalate complex product issues
Research and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot aftersales issues
Complete quality assurance inspections, documenting corrective actions and ensuring adequate amounts of quality-certified products are ready for dispatch
Set standard operating procedures for product QA/QC, troubleshooting and repairs and ensure adherence

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Technical qualification in electronics, electrical engineering or a related field (implied by advert requirements)
Experience in product repair, diagnostics and quality assurance of hardware products
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams

Skills & Competencies:

Hands-on troubleshooting and repair skills
Quality assurance and documentation discipline
Customer communication on warranty and repair decisions
Ability to set and follow standard operating procedures
