The USAID Local Partner Health Services – Kigezi & Lango Activity is implemented by the Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC). Job Description
The role of the Stores Assistant is to support the implementation of efficient and effective stock management systems. Working under the supervision of the Logistics Officer, the incumbent will maintain accurate records, follow stock movement protocols, and ensure safe and organized storage of supplies. They will also help prevent product damage or loss, support the timely dispatch of goods to intended recipients, and assist with regular stock counts and reporting. The ideal candidate should be a self-driven professional with demonstrated integrity and experience in stores management in an NGO setting.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date store inventory records
Receive, record, and issue supplies according to standard operating procedures
Monitor and manage product expiry using FIFO/FEFO principles
Ensure stores meet safety and cleanliness standards
Coordinate with the supervisor to optimize storage space and dispatch schedules
Ensure all dispatches are documented and signed off correctly
Minimize inventory losses and product damage
Participate in monthly stock counts and compile inventory reports
Contribute to monthly departmental reporting
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma in Transport Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage)
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in stores management, preferably in an NGO setting
Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with Navision ERP
Proven experience in inventory, dispatch, and supply chain systems
Strong teamwork, communication, and reporting skills
High personal integrity and reliability
