Job Description
Mukwano Industries Uganda Limited is seeking a qualified Shift Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations, allocate and monitor work assigned to subordinates, ensure smooth workflow, and maintain adherence to quality standards, production targets, and health and safety guidelines.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Allocate and monitor work assigned to subordinates to ensure smooth workflow.
- Provide technical guidance and support to subordinates in the plant.
- Monitor inventory levels and prepare requisitions for raw materials and spare parts.
- Prepare and submit daily production reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Oversee preventive maintenance to ensure timely execution and minimise downtime.
- Ensure efficient plant utilisation while adhering to company quality standards and production planning.
- Monitor worker performance during the production process, ensuring adherence to productivity and quality targets.
- Enter production data into the Enterprise Resource Application database.
- Ensure proper housekeeping practices are maintained in the production area.
- In consultation with the Production Officer/Manager, determine and implement efficient production methods.
- Implement health and safety guidelines to protect employees, materials, and machinery.
- Identify training needs and provide necessary skill development opportunities for staff.
