Job Description
Job Title: Shift Controller
Organization: Movit Products Limited
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supply plan execution
Ensure TPOs adhere to the supply plan.
Timely escalation of challenges to the PM that may lead to supply plan non-adherence.
Work closely with other stake holders like QA, Maintenance & Inventory to resolve constraints that may affect target attainment.
Materials management
Ensure 5S standards & GMPs are adhered to & continuous performance improvement should be registered when audited.
Ensure all BMRs are well filled by TPOs & batch management guidelines adhered too.
Ensure Materials reconciliations are done at shift end & unused PM returned to the PM holding locations.
Report on material wastages, conduct RCA & develop CAPA to reduce wastage.
Performance management
Lead daily Gemba meetings for purposes of daily performance review.
Assess training needs of TPOs & come up with training plans.
Ensure TPOs adhere to approved attendance & leave schedules.
Ensure all production reports are updated on time and with clear reasons where targets have not been attained.
Raise at least one innovation per month that is geared towards performance improvement.
Participate in problem solving sessions and identification of CIPs.
Analyze the 6 big losses that affect OEE, conduct RCA come up with CAPA in liaison with the CIS.
Participate in reviewing of processes, development & updating of production documentation & records i.e SOPs & WIs.
Asset care
Ensure autonomous maintenance activities are carried out by TPOs.
Develop one-point lessons for TPOs, this can be done in liasons with the Continuous improvement in-charge & the Engineering manager.
Ensure TPOs have the right tools for simple adjustments and repairs. These should also be well managed by following the tools policy.
Quality Control
Ensure line clearance before and at the end of the shift is done by TPOs.
Ensure all in-process checks are done by TPOs i.e PM quality, printed matter & weight checks.
Closure of all non-conformities raised by QA.
Health & safety
Report all unsafe acts, unsafe behaviors, near misses and any other safety related incident.
Log at least one JSO per month
Participate in OHS investigations, hazard identification & risk assessments when called upon.
Financial Management
Monitor and ensure zero waste of across the different production processes.
Risk Management
Identify the department’s risks, their various mitigations and keep track of them.
Compliance
Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of activities within Uganda
Adherence to all Movit Group and In Country Policies and Procedures.
Prepare and submit location daily report.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing / Industrial option), Chemistry, Physics Electrical.
Knowledge in SAP
Awareness in occupational health & safety
3 to 5 years relevant experience in FMCG Industry preferably in a similar role.
