Senior Internal Auditor

Description (Public)

Senior Internal Auditor (Salary Scale U3) — reports to the Principal Internal Auditor. To pre-audit payments to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and monitor and examine financial operations to ensure value for money. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant posts that exist in the service of Luwero District Local Government on a replacement basis.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Review operational financial and accounting systems to ensure efficiency
Audit procurement and payment procedures to facilitate efficient and effective transactions of the Local Government
Carry out manpower audits in line with the budget and laws
Conduct stores audits for safe custody, efficiency and economic usage of resources
Undertake Local Government audits in liaison with the Auditor General
Prepare and forward annual and quarterly departmental work plans and budgets to relevant authorities

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

An Honours Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Auditing from a recognised university, plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management, Business Administration or Auditing; or full professional qualifications in Accounting or Auditing plus a minimum of a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management or Auditing
At least three years of working experience at the level of an Internal Auditor in a public or reputable organisation
