• Install, configure, administer, maintain and upgrade approved enterprise database platforms in line with standards and change controls.
• Monitor database availability, health, scheduled jobs, query performance, storage, replication and capacity, and implement corrective action.
• Configure, monitor and verify database backups and recovery mechanisms, including point-in-time recovery, and take part in disaster recovery tests.
• Secure databases through access controls, patching and hardening in line with policy.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and support application teams and vendors.
• Document database configurations, procedures and changes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
• Professional database or ICT certification is an added advantage.
• Several years of hands-on enterprise database administration experience.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of enterprise database platforms and performance tuning.
• Backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning skills.
• Attention to detail and documentation discipline.
