How to Apply
Responsibilities:
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Oversee the preparation and production of payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product. Complete external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
Secure financial information by completing database backups.
File accounts records and ensure that they can be easily retrieved whenever required and accessible to authorized persons only.
Prepare schedules for accounts receivables and accounts payables and ensure that they are updated regularly.
Participate in the preparation of the annual financial reports.
Prepare monthly cash flows.
Write books of accounts, process payments and keep up to date records of accounts in accordance with the UTAMU financial rules and regulations.
Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications:
Professional certification(e.g. CPA, ACC)
Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or in a relevant field.
At least 5 years experience of work in a reputable organization.
