Precision Development (PxD) harnesses data-driven innovation to support smallholder farmers through scalable sustainable agricultural methods. The Research Associate supports quantitative research and impact evaluations in Kenya, focusing on data management, quality assurance, survey programming, and statistical analysis. The position works closely with research and field teams to ensure high-quality research outputs.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Support the design, programming, testing, and deployment of electronic surveys using SurveyCTO or similar platforms.
Contribute to survey piloting, enumerator training, and field research planning.
Monitor data collection progress and enumerator performance, addressing field issues as they arise.
Develop and implement automated high-frequency data quality assurance checks to flag inconsistencies.
Manage, clean, merge, and process quantitative datasets using reproducible, well-documented code.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Agricultural Economics, or related quantitative field.
Demonstrated experience with electronic survey programming platforms such as SurveyCTO or ODK.
Strong proficiency in statistical analysis software such as Stata, R, or Python.
