The Project Officer - Nutrition will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the nutrition activities in the project at community level, working in close collaboration with the sub county nutrition focal point person and the village health teams.

Facilitate the formation of Care Groups at community level
Roll out thematic, participatory trainings on various topics, including maternal and child nutrition and other related behaviors using the Care Group Approach.
Provide technical support and guidance to the Lead Mothers during the roll out of nutrition related trainings to the neighborhood women’s groups
In consultation with project coordinator organise and hold periodic review and reflection meetings with women, men groups, religious, cultural leaders and other community activists
Write and submit timely and quality project activity and project progress reports as per COU-TEDDO and donor formats
In coordination with village health teams, ensure implementation of family MUAC in the project areas
Organise and implement cooking demonstrations for improved nutrition of women, girls of reproductive age and infants in project area
Support in the development and distribution of Information Education and Communication materials
Support referral mechanism for nutrition related activities of the project
Participate in routine project data collection to ensure timely reporting and reviews of implementation.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Project coordinator from time to time.
A Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Community Health, Health Education,
Food Science and Technology or related field.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in implementation of similar projects is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports.
Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Ability to communicate in the local language (Ateso) is a MUST.
Strong understanding of Uganda nutrition principles, food security, and public health.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse, and interprete data effectively.
Strong training and facilitation skills
Must have a valid motorcycle riding permit and be willing to access communities using a
Motorcycle.
