• Support preparation of budgets for funding proposals to donors, ensuring core cost recovery is embedded.
• Maintain updated approved project budgets and coordinate budget revisions and forecasts.
• Review concept notes and purchase requisitions to confirm budget availability and expense eligibility before commitments.
• Prepare and submit donor reports for assigned projects within contractual timelines and respond to donor review comments.
• Maintain reconciliation of approved donor reports to the general ledger and process adjusting entries where needed.
• Prepare project funds requests per the disbursement schedule and maintain a register of requests and receipts.
• Review and post partners' periodic accountabilities, and prepare quarterly project trial balances.
• Maintain a donor compliance checklist and conduct routine compliance checks.
• Coordinate project specific compliance and annual donor audits, maintain an audit recommendation register and follow up actions.
• Prepare project close-out plans at least six months before closure and pre-audit reported expenses for proper filing and archiving.
• Conduct financial monitoring field reviews for partners and WWF staff, and hold capacity building sessions on donor financial management.
• Support the grants specialist in periodic due diligence assessments for existing and potential partners.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field.
• At least three years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international NGO or company.
• A full accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
• Experience using ERP systems is highly desirable.
• Experience working with government or donor funded projects.
