Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of POS terminal solutions, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain architectural documents and diagrams for Android Native and cross-platform POS systems.
- Make architectural decisions integrating payment technologies, EMV standards, and hardware peripherals.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce software engineering best practices across mobile and embedded systems.
- Optimize system performance and security around payment processing and EMV protocols.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineering teams and participate in engineering recruitment.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in system design, architecture, and development in the POS terminal domain
- Strong expertise in Android Native development (Java/Kotlin)
- Experience with cross-platform mobile development (e.g. Flutter, C, JavaScript)
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep knowledge of EMV security protocols, chip transactions, and encryption
- Hardware integration expertise (card readers, PIN pads, printers)
- Payment systems architecture and gateway integration
- Technical leadership and engineering mentorship
