The Pre-sales Engineer supports the sales team at Spidd Africa by translating customer requirements into technical solutions, running demonstrations, preparing proposals and BOMs and collaborating with sales and technical teams on solution design.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Conduct customer technical discovery and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Develop solution architectures and prepare technical proposals, RFP and RFQ responses.
Prepare compliance matrices, Bills of Materials, statements of work and solution designs.
Deliver customer presentations, solution workshops, demonstrations and proofs of concept.
Engage OEMs, distributors and technology partners, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Provide solution costing, licensing and implementation effort input to protect project margins.
Collaborate with Sales and Technical teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Support formal tenders and public-sector procurement processes.
Document solutions and translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

5 to 8 years of relevant ICT experience, with at least 3 years in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, consulting or solution engineering.
Broad understanding of cybersecurity, cloud, networking, servers, storage, backup, virtualisation and managed services.
Experience preparing technical proposals, RFP responses, BOMs, statements of work and solution designs.
Experience delivering presentations, workshops, demonstrations and proofs of concept.
Understanding of solution costing, licensing and commercial considerations.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
Relevant certifications, with Microsoft certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, Entra ID, Defender or Power Platform an advantage.
Experience with HPE, Dell, Cisco, Fortinet, Nutanix, F5, Palo Alto, Sophos, Veeam or VMware is desirable.
