The Plant Operator will operate heavy plants of difficult rating C in the public service, assisting machine attendants in identifying possible breakdowns and liaising with mechanics for servicing.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Operating heavy plants of difficult rating C
Assisting machine attendants in identifying possible breakdowns
Liaising with mechanics for servicing
Making daily and weekly oil checks
Maintaining cleanliness of the plants

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Possess a valid driving licence free from any current endorsements for the relevant class(es) of machine(s) to be operated
Passed Suitability Test for Plant Operators Grade III
Be able to operate at least two (2) plants of difficult rating C
First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance, KIHBT or any other recognized institution
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
