Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Permanent full-time senior consultant and Head of Department appointment.
Lead the Internal Medicine service within an established national public healthcare system.
Provide senior specialist oversight of complex inpatient, outpatient and acute medical care.
Provide clinical and operational leadership for the department, including service planning, quality improvement and development of specialist medical services.
Supervise and mentor medical officers and junior clinicians, and contribute to teaching, clinical governance and professional development.
Work collaboratively with other specialist disciplines and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Recognised specialist qualification in Internal Medicine / General Medicine, or an equivalent recognised physician specialist qualification.
Eligible for registration with the relevant national medical regulatory authority.
Appropriate senior specialist experience, with demonstrated clinical leadership and the ability to lead and manage a medical department.
Strong communication, multidisciplinary teamwork, teaching and clinical governance skills, with a commitment to service development and high-quality patient care.
