The Pharmaceutical Technologist provides essential pharmacy services to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient medication dispensing for patients. The role works closely with clinical officers and patients across Penda's outpatient branches.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Receive and process prescriptions from healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to Penda policies while dispensing medications.
Maintain vigilance over drug storage conditions by recording fridge and room temperatures regularly.
Regularly monitor pharmaceutical expiry dates and manage general medical supplies accordingly.
Implement strict protocols for the maintenance and documentation of Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) regulated medications.
Conduct monthly stock takes in alignment with policy guidelines and maintain accurate records of drug stocks.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized medical training institution.
Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya (PPB).
Valid Practicing License from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

Skills & Competencies:

Prescription processing and drug dispensing.
Pharmacy inventory management and cold-chain monitoring.
DDA documentation and pharmaceutical compliance.
