Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor Medical Officers, Intern Doctors and other health professionals under him/her.

• Train and supervise Intern Doctors.

• Plan, coordinate and conduct operational researching his/her area of specialization.

• Provide technical and professional advice in his/her area of specialization to the hospital.

• Promote observance of the professional codes of conduct and ethics by staff under him/her.

• Examines infants, adolescents and young adults to evaluate their growth and development.

• Evaluate patients to diagnose injuries, illnesses and developmental problems.

• Order, performs and interprets diagnostic tests, such as lab work and x-rays to gather medical information and reach a diagnosis.

• Prescribes or administers treatments such as medications, vaccinations, and other therapies.

• Gathers and documents patients’ medical histories.

• Advises patients and their families on proper diet, exercise and disease prevention and treatment.

• Discusses procedures and test results with patients and their families.

• Track patients’ conditions over time and adjusts treatments as needed.

• Documents diagnoses and medical impressions for record-keeping and billing purposes.

• Performs ward rounds to check on patients’ conditions.

• Refers patients to pediatric specialists as needed.

• Performs any other duties which may be reasonably assigned from time to time.
