Job Description
Job Title: Part-Time Finance Manager
Organisation: Maarifasasa
Duty Station: Lira, Uganda
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Finance Manager to oversee and improve the financial health and operations of Maarifasasa. This role will involve financial planning, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial management, contributing to the organization’s growth and sustainability.

How to Apply
Financial Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Maarifasasa’s goal.
Provide insights and recommendations for financial planning and growth.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Prepare and manage annual budgets.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
Financial Reporting:
Produce accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Prepare financial reports for donors, stakeholders, and management.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
Oversee tax filings, audits, and other statutory requirements.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to ensure financial stability.
Manage banking relationships and negotiate terms as needed.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems.
Train staff on financial policies and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA/ACCA certification is an advantage).
At least 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the edutech or training sector.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations in Uganda.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho books, Excel).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
