Nursing Officer (Nursing) (Salary Scale U5) — reports to the Senior Nursing Officer. To provide quality nursing services and public health care interventions to patients and the community. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant posts that exist in the service of Luwero District Local Government on a replacement basis.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Receive patients, register admissions, discharges and deaths
Provide treatment to patients
Maintain a clean and healthy environment for patients
Prepare and carry out sterile procedures and dispose of medical waste
Participate in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team
Participate in doctors' and Clinical Officers' ward rounds
Prepare patients for meals and sensitise them on the recommended diet
Impart knowledge and skills to health support staff and trainees
Compile daily ward reports and hand them over to the incoming shift leader
Manage and account for allocated resources

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Must be trained at registered level from a recognised Nursing Training Institution
Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council
