Uganda Heart Institute is recruiting for the post of Medical Officer (salary scale UHI 4 MED-1; number of posts: 5), reporting to the Associate Consultant – Adult Cardiology. To participate in the management of adult cardiovascular patients. This is a full-time position at the Institute headquarters in Mulago, Kampala.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Receive, clerk, admit and discharge patients.
Develop patient treatment plans.
Collect data for research.
Initiate and carryout investigations.
Update patient records.
Guiding patients and caregivers on treatment plans.
Participate in ward rounds and in the specialty area.
Supervision of medical interns and trainees

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

MB.Ch.B from a recognized University or Institution.
Master of Science (MSc) in Medicine (Internal Medicine) or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
Should be registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
Must possess a valid practicing license.
The Medical Officers who will be appointed shall undergo fellowship program for specialisation in Cardiology during their time of service in UHI
