Marketing Associate (Acquisition) role at Numida, a YC-backed fintech in Kampala. Focuses on retention and lifecycle marketing (70%) plus wider marketing priorities (30%) across three East African markets, including reactivation programmes, repeat journeys, and lifecycle messaging via SMS, WhatsApp, and in-app.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Segment the client base (active, dormant, churned, at risk, high value)
Build baseline figures covering repeat behaviour, dormancy and reactivation
Design and run reactivation programmes for dormant and churned clients
Build repeat journeys helping first-time borrowers take second and third loans
Create adoption messaging for savings, multi-term loans and new products
Manage lifecycle messaging across SMS, WhatsApp, and in-app channels
Write clear, short, human copy that sounds like a partner talking to a business owner
Run control groups to measure what actually worked
Maintain a regular cohort view for the team
Maintain a working playbook, vendor list, and records of campaigns and results

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

3-5 years in marketing with real exposure to CRM, lifecycle or retention work
Experience from lending, telco, insurance, ecommerce or similar field
Ability to pull own data or willingness to learn quickly
Good grasp of testing methodologies including control groups and sample sizes
Clear, short, human copywriting in English

Skills & Competencies:

Comfort with breadth across acquisition, launch or event work
Comfort building something before results arrive
Luganda, Swahili or Kinyarwanda (advantage)
SQL, Redash or similar querying experience (advantage)
Experience working across more than one market or country (advantage)
