Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tax strategies that optimise the company's tax position, including freight, fuel and international shipping taxes.
- Follow up tax queries and respond or object in a timely manner for proper closure.
- Prepare written objections with technical arguments, precedents and provisions of the law.
- Provide supporting documents and responses to revenue authority requests and audits.
- Support audit reviews and ensure compliance with tax obligations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional accounting or tax qualification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Several years of tax compliance and audit experience, ideally in logistics or a similar sector.
- Strong knowledge of Ugandan tax law and practice.
Skills & Competencies:
- Tax planning and compliance.
- Audit and query management.
- Technical writing and negotiation.
