Lifting Coordinator

The Lifting Coordinator is responsible for the safe planning, supervision and execution of all lifting and hoisting operations within EACOP field sites, ensuring compliance with EACOP lifting procedures, international standards and statutory regulations.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Develop and review lifting plans and risk assessments for critical and non-critical lifts
Coordinate daily lifting activities across field operations including logistics yards, warehouses, PS sites and maintenance areas
Ensure adequate lifting equipment, cranes, forklifts and rigging gear are available, inspected and certified
Maintain the Lifting Operations Register and ensure proper record keeping
Supervise lifting operations to ensure compliance with approved lifting plans and permits
Ensure riggers, crane operators, banksmen and signallers are competent and certified
Authorise and sign off permits for critical lifts and provide on-site technical support during heavy and complex lifts
Ensure compliance with the EACOP HSE Management System, international standards (LOLER, BS, ISO, API, ASME) and national regulations
Conduct toolbox talks and pre-lift safety briefings, and stop unsafe operations immediately
Lead incident investigations related to lifting and hoisting activities
Ensure lifting appliances and accessories are inspected, tested and certified, liaising with third-party inspection agencies
Quarantine defective or expired lifting equipment and remove it from service
Provide mentoring, coaching and refresher training for riggers, signallers and crane operators
Drive the Stop Work Authority culture and zero harm objectives in all lifting operations

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree or diploma in Engineering, Mechanical, Civil or a related technical discipline
Relevant lifting and rigging certification, with demonstrable experience coordinating lifting operations on oil and gas or heavy construction sites
Working knowledge of LOLER, BS, ISO, API and ASME lifting standards
