Legal Assistant

The Legal Assistant will support the Legal and Compliance Officer in delivering legal, compliance, and operational functions across all entities within the Tekjuice Group. This role is based in Kampala and involves assisting with contract management, legal research, and regulatory compliance.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in drafting, reviewing, and formatting contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence across Group entities
Maintain and organise the Group's contract register and legal files
Track contract deadlines, renewals, and obligations and flag these to the Legal and Compliance Officer
Conduct legal research on Ugandan law, UK law, and applicable regulatory frameworks as directed
Assist in preparing legal opinions, memos, and briefing notes for internal stakeholders
Support the preparation of weekly and periodic compliance reports for senior management
Monitor regulatory deadlines and licensing obligations, including those under NITA-U and other applicable bodies
Assist in maintaining the Group's compliance calendar and ensuring timely filings and renewals.
Undertake any other duties reasonably assigned by the Legal and Compliance Officer
