Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

The Landfill Supervisor will provide a management service on site through the planning, operating and supervising of the different environments, within the legal and safety parameters governing the site and ensure profitable and cost effective operation through maximum utilisation of resources and ensuring compliance with Company Policies and Procedures and all National and Local authority requirements.

Ensure that the site operates cost effectively
Check monthly costs against budget.
Ensure effective plant utilization
Manage the stock of chemicals and materials in accordance with operational requirements
Ensure adherence to operational plans including drainage, access roads and aesthetics
Ensure good housekeeping and safe working face to facilitate effective disposal operation
Ensure adherence to all Company health and safety policies as well as legal and permit requirements
Ensure weighbridge and site road ways are well maintained and are effective
Supervision of staff
Ensure all staff are correctly inducted and trained
Manage staff time keeping & attendance
Manage the overtime and shift roster
Initiate disciplinary actions when required
Manage all staff as per the groups HR policy

Tertiary qualification in Chemistry.
Quality Assurance qualification will be an advantage.
At least five years’ supervisory experience in an applied field
Knowledge of different chemical process and materials
